Mr Rory Maher is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). He graduated from Monash University in 2003, then undertook training in general surgery, before entering the Australian Plastic Surgery training program. 

 

After completing his training, he undertook a Hand and Wrist fellowship in the UK, specialising in treatment of arthritis of the hand including joint replacement surgery and treatment of traumatic injuries of the hand.

Having grown up in Melbourne, Eugene studied at The University of Melbourne, completing his medical degree and Bachelor of Medical Science in 2002. He then spent a number of years working in a variety of surgical specialties at The Royal Melbourne Hospital. After completing two years of accredited general surgical training, Eugene then transitioned to the five year plastic surgical training program, completing this through a number of Victorian and Tasmanian hospitals. After being admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2014, Eugene then completed a 12 month hand and wrist fellowship at the University of Toronto, a unit that performed Canada’s first hand transplant. Prior to arriving back home in 2015, he also undertook an observership with Dr Susan Mackinnon in St Louis, Missouri.

 

Currently, he is employed as a consultant plastic surgeon at The Alfred and The Royal Melbourne. His primary interests are microsurgery, hand, wrist, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery.

Satomi Koide is a Board certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with a special interest in oncological reconstruction, including breast reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction and extremity reconstruction.

 

Satomi also manages skin cancer, hand surgery, breast reduction and abdominoplasty.
